When we created the identity for Angola based supermarket chain Intermarket, we were inspired by the locally iconic baobab tree as a symbol of life, community and nourishment. The retailer was positioning itself to be best in fresh, boasting a world class butchery and a selection of international products that was unmatched in the country. We also knew that because a supermarket needs to constantly communicate with its customers, Intermarket needed a dynamic brand that would grow, evolve, change shapes and colors and adapt to different seasonal campaigns — just like a tree in real life — and that’s exactly what we did. By applying the brand everywhere from product displays to signage, billboards, packaging, external wayfinding, social media content, their new website, and more, the result is a seamless and beautiful retail experience that celebrates the people of Angola.

2018 WORLD CUP CAMPAIGN

To get fans excited for the 2018 World Cup, we created a fictional football team: Intermarket FC. We used the new team’s badge and colors to transform the shelves into a football fan’s dream - filled with carefully chosen snacks and other goodies, all in time for the big game.

CABAZ DE NATAL

Every year, Angola celebrates the festive season by gifting bounties of food, including fresh fruits and gourmet chocolates. We created a 360° campaign to promote these gift baskets through print, digital and in-store applications.
